The founder of Granny Cassie's House, Sherry Cooksey Thomas, was raised by her grandparents in a loving and caring environment. She now realizes Granny Cassie and Granddaddy John could have used some support.

The organization offers programs to assist grandparents in minimizing stress and will provide valuable information for raising grandchildren.

To support the need for the organization, information provided by the United States Census Bureau in Georgia reported an estimated 1.3 million children are currently being raised by Grandparents. Our purpose is to reach out and provide assistance to grandparents age 55 and older who, due to no reason of their own, have begun parenting again. The organizations objective is to assist all grandparents raising their grandchildren; however, grandparents under the age of 55 will be referred to the proper agency for assistance.

Granny Cassie's House proudly serves the Atlanta metro area. Our doors are open to all grandparents regardless of race, religion or beliefs.
